Frontier 85 Harness-2-Booster Car Seat

I was excited when the opportunity was given to me to review one of these amazing car seats.  My son Little E is now 4 years old and ready to move from his convertible car seat to a booster.  Knowing my son is small for his age, I choose the Frontier 85 Harness-2-Booster seat.  Although a booster seat this seat contains a 5 point harness, giving your smaller child the protection he needs before moving onto a lap belt.  Once your child is big enough to use a lap belt, the 5 point harness can be removed.  This gives you the option of only having to purchase 1 car seat for your child from age 2 until they are ready to be out of a car seat all together!

Like many of the other Britax car seats, the Frontier 85 offers the True Side Impact Protection.  The True Side Impact Protection is a system that encompasses multiple areas of the seat including deep side walls of the seat shell and includes energy absorbing foam that lines the head restraint. 

Other Safety Features Include:

• Energy-Absorbing Versa-Tether features a staged-release tether webbing to slow the forward movement, reducing the crash forces reaching the child, and a two-point attachment to minimize forward rotation while anchoring the top of the child seat.
• Tangle Free, Five-Point Harness with 10 harness height positions (up to 20″) and three buckle positions for a snug and secure fit as your child grows
• Harness Ultra Guard System (HUGS™) provides resistance to forward movement in the event of a crash
• Compatible with SecureGuard which works with the vehicle safety belt in booster mode to prevent the child from sliding under the lap-belt portion of the safety belt during impact, thus minimizing the risk of abdominal injury (accessory sold separately)
• Energy-Absorbing Foam Liner (EPS) absorbs and distributes crash forces
• Energy-Absorbing Base deforms in the event of a crash to absorb impact forces
• High Density Comfort Foam provides an extra layer of padding to gently cushion your child
• Premium Lower LATCH Connectors for a quick and simple installation featuring a push button for easy release
• Color-Coded Vehicle Belt Guides indicate the path and positioning of the vehicle lap and shoulder seat belt.

5 point harness

This booster is so easy to install and use.  I love how simple the 5 point harness is to adjust.  No need to re-adjust the shoulder height by re-threading the straps, with this car seat, straps can be adjusted by simply adjusting the lift-lever on the back of the car seat finding the right shoulder height for your child.

Harness can be adjusted using 10 different heights for the perfect fit!

Along with the many safety features, the Frontier 85 offers many great comfort features as well.  Dual cup holders, arm rests, strap protectors, and soft velvety fabric, making this a very comfy ride indeed!

I am as pleased with the Frontier as I have been with my other Britax car seats.  My son loves his new "big boy seat" and I love the fact that I can count on him being safe.
